How does this work?

Technique
The floor is usually made in layers of material that are pressed together. In a floor which has become qualified for the brand ActiFloor, the upper layer contains a material called a photocatalyst. The photocatalytic material is one of the components added to the protective overlay material  incorporated , which means that the photocatalytic material will be in the entire wear layer and therefore it will not wear down before the floor is worn down.
